There have been military operations taking place with the goal of pushing out Taliban rebles from various villages in the south of Afghanistan. During the operation, two Afghan soliders and 23 militants were reported to have been killed.
Supported by Canadian forces, the Afghan troops targeted villages in the Arghandab district of the Kandahar province. It was there on Friday where 400 militants escaped from prison in a jailbreak. At the same time, in a different operation in Lashkar Gah, four British soldiers were killed on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, during a separate incident, two NATO-led soldiers were killed and 10 were left wounded in southern Afghanistan during a patrol. The alliance force has not released the nationalities of the troops during this situation in Paktika province.
