There hasn't been a major earthquake in Greece since 1999, it left around 100 people dead. In the European Union, Greece is one of the most quake-prone countries.

This Sunday though, a strong quake hit Greece at 3:30 p.m., measured at 6.1 in magnitude. 35 kilometers southwest of Patras was the quake's epicenter. It killed one but pushed off landslides that have since trapped around 11 people. Since then, 15 have also been injured.

Believed to be trapped in a collapsed home nearby the epicenter is a family of ten. Reports also say that there is an elderly woman trapped inside her collapsed home.

During the quake, the ground was said to have shaken for around 20 seconds from 125 km east of the epicenter.
