At this summer's Reading and Leeds festivals, American alternative rock giants like Rage Against the Machine, Metallica and the Killers will be headlining the event.

The event that spans three days wil be alternating between two different locations in the U.K. from August 22-24. Other performances of the impressionable line-up are Queens of the Stone Age, Bloc Party, Tenacious D, the Raconteuars, Slipknot and the Fratellis.

For the first time in ten years, the double event will not be carrying any sponsers name in it's title. Reading is the longest-running festival in the U.K., it's origin in the National Jazz and Blues Festival in Richmond in the year 1961. The name Reading Festival settle in 1971. In 1999, they launched the alternate leg in Leeds, in north England.
